Our branch location at 303 Kasan Ave will close permanently as of May 31, 2024. We will be closed for business Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1, while we move to our new location at 424 East Highway 14.
Please call or visit our Brookings or Elkton locations if you need assistance during the closure. We will reopen for business on Monday, June 3, at our new facility.

Furniture and finishing touches took place throughout the month of April in preparation of our June 3rd opening.

Work continued on the exterior brick facade as well as lighting and cabinetry going in this month.

Construction crews have been busy this month at our new location in Volga. Walls are going up and we're so excited to see the new space taking shape!
September 2023
Work continued on the basement during September. Frames were installed, more concrete poured, and eventually the partial basement backfill was completed. Crews are prepping to lay concrete for the main level later this week!
AUGUST 2023
Construction is in full swing at our new Volga location with dirt work and basement forms being completed this month!

VOLGA – Charles Hegerfeld, chief executive officer of BankStar Financial, announces plans to construct a new bank building in Volga.
“We are excited to bring customers a new banking facility that reflects the growth of our Volga business and our optimism for the future,” said Hegerfeld.
The new BankStar building will be located at 424 East Highway 14 and will feature a drive-through window to provide quick and flexible access to customers. The new ATM will also be drive-through accessible. The new bank includes additional office and conference space for our growing team and it will resemble the BankStar branch in Brookings from a design perspective.
The project will break ground in July and is expected to be complete in June of 2024. During construction, BankStar will continue doing business from the current location at 303 Kasan Avenue. Banking services are not expected to be disrupted during the project. BankStar will be communicating by various means to keep customers updated on matters affecting their banking needs.
BankStar Financial has also recently announced plans to build a new branch building in Elkton, SD, to replace the current historic structure.

BankStar plans to retain ownership of the current Kasan Avenue facility after the move is complete. BankStar thanks the Volga community for its support during this time.
